The Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant (TCAAP) occupies nearly one-third of the entire land area of Arden Hills, or approximately 4 square miles (2,370 acres) in the northern part of the City. The federal government is expected to release portions of TCAAP for redevelopment purposes over the next 20 years. The release of the site is dependent upon site contamination clean up and continued federal uses of the property. The release and development of this land will have a tremendous impact on the future development and character of the City. A TCAAP Framework Plan was developed in 1995-96 and, in large part, reflected in the City's 1998 Comprehensive Plan Update.
